I started tracking my own grocery spending a couple of years ago and realized there was no single place that had all the basic tools you need. I could find a budget calculator on one site, a list maker on another, and a spreadsheet template on a third. But none of them talked to each other, and half of them wanted me to create an account just to add milk to a list.
So I built these. Every tool on this page works immediately, in your browser, with no signup. Your data stays on your device. If you want to go deeper and scan receipts, track prices across stores, or share a household budget, that's what the full Groceries Tracker app is for. But these free tools stand on their own.
How to Use These Tools Together
Figure out your budget. Use the budget calculator to get a weekly or monthly target based on your household size and diet. If you're curious how that compares to other people, the average cost calculator shows you national averages.
Plan your meals and build a list. The meal planner helps you pick meals that fit your budget. Then use the list maker to organize your ingredients by aisle and add prices.
Estimate before you go. Punch your list into the cost estimator to see if you're within budget before you leave the house.
Track what you actually spent. After shopping, log the trip in the spending tracker or grab the spreadsheet template if you prefer Excel. For item-level detail, the full app's receipt scanner reads every line on your receipt automatically.
